About Rohan
Rohan Rogers is a traveller with his roots in the picturesque town of Buchan. He continues to maintain strong ties with the bush, and is often found travelling to rural and remote parts of the country to photograph an event, or in search of other great photo opportunities
Yes, Blowfly Hill is a strange name, with a story. Rohan’s childhood home was on a hill on the family’s farm, during Summer there tended to be a lot of flies about causing Rohan’s mother to refer to the hill as “Blowfly Hill”.
After a lot of searching for a more appropriate and refined name, Blowfly Hill kept on popping up in Rohan’s mind, and despite trying to come up with other options, none of them really stuck. So in honour of his mum, and his childhood home, Blowfly Hill it is.
After decades of travel and photography came to a screeching halt due to the Covid pandemic, Rohan took the opportunity to further his photography knowledge and skills by completing the Bachelor of Photography in 2023, with a major in photo journalism at Photography Studies College.
Rohan’s wide photographic repertoire delves into genres such as landscape, portraiture, fine art, and event photography.
His diverse background experiences in engineering, manufacturing, nursing, and farming, along with years of working nationally and internationally, give him unique insights into the way he sees and captures his subjects.

Buchan Caves Hotel
Greg Brick from the Buchan Caves Hotel, with the poster from the Mountain Cattlemen’s get-together at Buchan River Run in January 2017. He managed to find a spot in the bar area, just the right size. Why not have a trip to Buchan and support this wonderful community. Tell Bricky that I sent you, and I promise you (probably) won’t get kicked out.

Danny Phegan
Danny Phegan the well known country singer made the winning bid for this poster. The 2017 Cattleman’s was his first year of both performing on the Friday and Saturday nights, and also competing all weekend. How did he go? Naturally the music was top notch, and he came a very respectable 5th in the Open Cattlemen’s Cup Challenge!
Obviously his photography may leave a bit to be desired, but you can be sure he can sing and ride with the best of them!
If you like some great Australian country music you should check Danny and the band Longreach out.
